Typos (Tipos? Whatever.) (was: what gasket is this?)

Nick Koleszar writes "I'm looking at Alfa Romeo parts diagrams and the gasket
is shows between the rear and center silencers is part number
"102.00.09.700.01", same as used between the manifolds and downpipes. The only
thing is, the AR diagram depicts a fat, doughnut insert type of gasket rather
than the normal flat type. They have the same part numbers. Can somebody
please confirm what gasket belongs between the rear and center silencers?"

Nick has discovered one of those rare Alfa typos. The flat one, with three
holes, between the manifold and the headpipe, is 102.02.09.700.01; the donut
(bagel, cruller, whatever) between the rear "Tubo scarico posteriore" and the
main silenziatore is 102.00.09.700.01. The 1750 GT Veloce/Spider book gives
them both as 102.00.09.700.01 but the 1750 Berlina, 2000 Berlina, 1600 coupes,
Giulia Berlinas and Catalogo Rapido all agree on the distinction between .00
and .02. At least my copies do. YMMV -

May all your problems be this light-
