Refurbing Spider bumpers

Do not use any of the gels, back to black, etc. that may contain silicone if
you intend to repaint the bumpers at some point. That silicone is almost
impossible to get off the surface when prepping for paint.

Really, folks, on a Series 2 Spider, you could probably have the bumpers
completely off, any scratches filled with the flexible bumper repair paste,
primed, sanded, color coated and back on the car in a long weekend or two
regular weekends and less than $50 in paint, prep, and repair paste. The
bumnpers would looks as good as new, and with a little mechanics wire, you
could even hang the directionals off the bumper mounts and the car could
still be driven if needed. Why fool around with half-fast methods?
