gel cells in trunk mounted battery applications

I can't remark on trunk mounted gel-cell battery applications but I've
used a Prevailer (German made) gel cell in my Lotus Seven since 1991.
Previously I had nothing but trouble with acid boiling or dripping on the
aluminum.  The gel cell battery is now 11 years old and hasn't once caused
any damage (to the aluminum); a Battery Tender keeps it maintained.
