Air intake duct comes loose

Fred and the others who suggested new motor mounts are quite correct.
However, I have had the same problem on Bosch spiders that had new motor
mounts.
I suspect that over tightening the clamp at the air flow meter end can
cause it to creep off. There is a bit of a taper at the very end and even
carefully getting the clamp on the flat part is not always successful.
My 84 SCCA ITB Spider race car is the biggest problem. I ended up
gluing it in place. It was at the track and all I had was 3M black Weather
Strip Adhesive. The duct pulled part way off again before the glue
completely set up. It has been partly off but well glued the past year or so.
However my hose split on the other end and I now have to replace it.
I may try to cut some grooves in the mounting surface. Or I may glue it
again. It depends on how successful I am at getting the air flow meter
chucked up on the lathe.

I once put Armor All on the hose, inside and outside. That was not a
success story!
