Doh!..First hiccup on 164 Project.

I knew it was too good to be true. The engine from the breakers which I was
assured over the telephone had " 24V" written on the plenum (cos I asked them
to check) turns out o be a 12 Valve motor when it was delivered to my friends
yard. Luckily I havn't paid for it so it is going straight back from whence it
came.

I am now of a mind to catalogue all the bits and pieces that arrived with the
car, and assuming a reasonably complete inventory, I will carry out a cylinder
head overhaul myself on the existing heads. Visually there are no obvious
bends in the valves or any signs of contact with the pistons, but I havn't
gone into any detail yet. Assuming that goes to plan I will take the car and
heads to the engine builder to reassemble, but this is not going to be a quick
job as I have too many things on my plate to give it all my spare time. Maybe
there are some positives to be taken from this apparent setback. We shall
see!
