Wiper Intermittent Mode -Alfa 164

Can anyone help me with the subject.   My intermittent selection is not
intermittent rather it stays on the slow regular wipe.

is it a matter of a relay change, in which case is it the relay in the fuse
box or is it a more insidious problem.
