rusty exhaust replacement

To all,
I would like very much to keep my rust bucket alive, at least untill I can
find a decent body shop in Dallas that can do restoration work for me (any
ideas out ther fellow texans?) . The latest problem that I found is that
there is a leak in the down pipe just as it makes a 90 degree turn , as if
the car bottomed out. I have been told that this part is no longer
available. The part can be descibed as a "V" asssembly that connects the
exhaust manifolds to the catalitic converter, which is also included on this
piece. I have an old ar ricambi catolog that says there was a european set
of pipes that connected diretcly to the exhaust manifold and by passed a
cat. Can I still get a set of these? I found a muffler shop that can build
just about anything, but they cannot build something to connect to the
exhaust manifold. Maybe some of our european collegues can answer this.
