Noisy Power Steering Drive Belt

I put a new power steering/water pump drive belt on my 164 about a month ago.
It is chattering in an unpleasant manner when you start it up in the morning,
but it quietens down when the car is warmed up. Is it too tight, or not tight
enough, or what? Any suggestions gratefully received. The old (and very tired)
belt did not do this.
