milano driveline rattle, yet again

hey gang,

recently my 2.5l milano gold has developed a rattle at
idle, which is especially noticable when the engine is
shut down. as it spins to a stop it creates a ringing
that sounds very, very much like something tapped the
driveshaft (which has a distinctive note). it sounds
like it is coming from the front of the car. it is
definitely independent of clutch position (clutch is
new, as is throw-out bearing, clutch input shaft
bearings are not new but felt fine when i changed the
clutch). the guibos are good and bolts are tight (as
is the cinch bolt on the front yoke). there are no
dust seals on the driveshaft at the moment, though.
oh, and, the driveshaft has a noticable vibration
around 4.5krpm, which has been there longer than the
rattle.

i know this question comes up about every month, but
i'm a little puzzled by the "front part of the car"
nature. before i changed the clutch i had the standard
death rattle due to bad t/o bearing, which went away
when i replaced it. but this is a more recent
development.

any thoughts?

thanks,
