Noise from Fuel Pump or Altitude Sensor

There is a vibration and a loud humming noise coming from the vertical wall
behind the passenger seat in my '93 Spider. My fuel pump seems OK. Some
old Digest postings mention a failed vacuum sensor or altitude
sensor/compensator (rather than the fuel pump) as being a cause of the
noise, at least on Spica cars.

Any thoughts on the part(s) needed to fix this in a 1991-94 Spider would be
appreciated. I couldn't find anything on the on-line parts catalogues I
looked at.

Thanks,
Dan in Honolulu
