The old mechanic's trick (yes, I am an old mechanic)
on the alternator pivot bolt nuts is to apply a little
dab of 3M weatherstrip adhesive (known as gorilla snot
in the trade) to the bolt threads before installing 
and tightening the nuts.  They won't come loose but
will be easy to remove when neccesary.
