Euro spec horsepower

No rarer than some American horses of the same era. :-))

The 150 is a SAE figure, sometimes termed "gross". There are quite a few
different standards for testing engines, but the German DIN method is quite
a common "net" figure.

Data from the Richard Bremner's book for "Euro" cars, DIN unless otherwise
noted:

1971-1975, carbed: 132, 150 SAE
1975-1982, carbed: 128

1986-89, L-Jet: 115 (with catalyst)
1989 - Motronic: 126 (120 with catalyst)

So even the Euro cars appear to have lost power through the 70s and 80s....

But the 150 hp of the twinspark used from the 75 onwards WAS DIN.

What was the quote from some motoring journo? Something like: "I've never
met a kW (HP) I didn't like!"
