need to vent -- ignore if you want
has anyone ever taken their car to an Americ's Service Station (texas &
georgia only)? satisfied? i just got 4 new tires (badly needed due to no
tread on fronts and a flat rear). when i picked the spider up, they had put
all the balancing weights on the outside of the rims, and the car pulled
very hard to the left. i went back. "well the front wheels aren't aligned
properly" they say.... but it hasn't pulled since i've owned it. "the front
wheels aren't vertical" no they aren't. i need adjustable upper a-arms i
s'pose, but since it had suspension work it hasn't pulled.... what the crap?
its not THEIR fault its the tire. honest "hey even though we don't close for
another three hours, come back tomorrow and we'll look at it some more" --
this is, of course, AFTER i've already paid. they switched the fronts to see
if it is the car or the tires. now it pulls hard right. scary to drive.
still just "come back tomorrow" they don't realize that i have a job and
things to do. *sigh* time to get a tire balancer at home too. is this a
valid excuse to buy more tools?
on a happy notre, the spider is the ONLY car i've ever driven with perfect
alignment. let alone the only 15 year old one.
