'69 GTV - side marker lights?

Should a '69 GTV (115) have the side marker lights on the front fenders?
I'm looking at one locally and it lacks the lights.  I searched the web
for other '69s and see that they also lack the lights.  Was it left off
that year or perhaps was a European feature only?
