84 Spider Brake line adapter sizes

During the process of replacing the rear brake calipers, the line to the
driver's side snapped. Suspected this might happen as the surface rust
on the line on this side was rather heavy. Now I've read here on the
digest many times that the brake lines on the Alfa use a double flare. I
took a rough measurement of needed length and off to the local NAPA store
I drove.

Impressed, here in Pataskala, OH, the NAPA store stocked a 3/16" x 40"
metric double flare brake line! Spent 30 bucks plus for a decent tubing
bender (a K-D Tool model), 4 bucks for the line. Never bent a brake line
before so I decided to bend the new line before I removed the old one.
Came out rather well so I removed the old line, fished the new through
the hole atop the trailing arm, mounted the caliper end no problem. But
the end that mounts to the block on the passenger side front edge of the
differential would not go. Repeated attempts to be sure the tubing was
aligned to the hole made no difference.

Finally sat back and looked that the ends of the old line.  Caliper end;
double flared with what looks like 10 x 1.0 mounting adapter. The new
line mounted fine here. Block end; oh boy! This was single flared and
appeared to be maybe a 9 x 1.0 adapter. It was slightly smaller in
diameter compared to the old end from the caliper. Of course the NAPA
brake line has 10 x 1.0 adapters on both ends.

Question: double flare at the calipers, single flare at the other
mounting locations - standard setup, or was the splitter block possibly
changed, introducing the single flare points? I looked into the end of
the splitter block but could not confirm if it is set up single or double
flare connection. I thought if it was supposed to have a double flare
and the single flare was installed it would not have provided a seal and
would leak.

The car is still on the lift with the brake line not mounted to the
block. I am hoping someone can tell me (if what I have is standard
setup) what size adapter is needed at the splitter block, single or
double flare and, if I need to change to single flare at this point, is
the size needed hard to find. I must wait until Monday to search for
correct adapter, hope to have enough line length to cut off the flare,
re-flare and still reach the block.
