       The most likely cause is water in the wrong places.  You walked right 
into that one!
       Disconnect every electrical connector you can find, blow it dry, spray 
in a bit of Radio Shack contact cleaner or WD-40, put it back together and go 
to the next connector.
       Someone on the digest is going to say not to use WD-40, but I have 
used it for years on my Alfa connectors.  Plus WD means Water Dry.

       It is possible to keep an engine too clean, too often.
