cars from Vikings?

I am sure our British and French friends remember the Vikings and some still
hold a grudge.

The Netherlands, I think, used to produce a car called a Daf, I think, but of
course no one in NY would buy one of those!

The Portuguese were really more into ships than cars, but that fad, too,
passed.

Alfa was all but destroyed as a result of W.W.II (watch out what kind of
friends you get involved with, lie down with dogs, get up with fleas). OTOH,
some of the strongest auto companies now on the planet solidified their
strength despite being on the losing end of that war. And they are, to my
mind, still benefiting from the boost of the war years with all their
horrors. And yes, I am crazy enough to believe plenty of the ignorant
shareholders and their progeny are still around and collecting.

But what do I know? I also won't buy a Krups coffee maker, an Arriflex
camera, and break out in hives when I find one of the many German parts on my
GTV6.
