I was going to jump right in here with a "hey, you know my old Audi ain't 
too ix-pensive to afford" ... but then I realized.... Alex, compared to a 
$50 Alfetta, everything is expensive! &:-))) 

As to offroading, well, when you ruin three of your street tires at 
once -- suffering punctures with staples AND nails in multiple places 
... and all you've got left to drive on are your 
pretty-much-scraped-by-now track tires and no extra money to buy new 
tires for a while ... and if you live in the rainy Pacific NW.... Hey the 
driving can get p r e t t y exciting without even leaving the pavement (I 
use "leaving" in kind of a loose fashion here).

p.s. It isn't caffeine, honest. I just happen to be hardwired to 
"sensory overload" once in a while... 
p.p.s. So could a WRX be an Audi on Aquavit? Or is it the other way 
around?
