re: GTV headers

In AD8-0327 Dana Loomis, responding to the '74 header question, wrote "As far
as I know, all '74 and earlier 105 manifolds are the same, regardless of year
or engine. Later ones are different, and changed with the year and model of
car (Alfetta, Spider, etc)".

With the one quibble that this applies to cars originally offered in the USA,
the Catalogo Rapido agrees; all 1600, 1750, and 2000 105s through 1974 used
105.02.01.705.03 (1+4) and 105.02.01.706.03 (2+3) but all 1300 105s used a
different 105.06.01.705.00 (1+4) and 105.06.01.706.00 (2+3). (The 1600
GT/GTV/GTC/GTA book says the 105.16.01.071 and .072 GTA headers were optional
on the GT, GTV, and GTC).

The manifolds on a 1974 GT Veloce parts car I have have one detail difference,
in that the bosses for air-pump plumbing were cast-in but not yet machined,
indicating that AR by then had anticipated and provided for the next level of
regulation. I assume from those bosses that the first air-pump Spiders also
had the "74" manifolds, but drilled and tapped. From other stuff I have I
would infer that the '75, '76. and '77 49-state Spiders probably had them, and
the '77 California and later 50-state cars didn't, but Spiderpeople would know
more about that than I ever will.

Cheers
