Exploded Dellortos
In AD8-0306 Ralph DeLaurentis asks "Does anyone know where to find an exploded
view of a DELLORTO 40 DHLA".
There are exploded views, together with disassembly/reassembly instructions,
for the Dellorto DLHA 40, together with the Solex 40 DDH and the Weber DCOE,
in the aftermarket manuals Haynes 531 and Autobooks OWM 959, both on Alfettas,
and more extensively detailed (or at least larger scale, w/ three sheets each
instead of one) for all three in the 2000 parts books (plates 23, 24 and 25
for the Dellorto in the Berlina book) and presumably in parts books for all
other models which used all three carbs; the earlier 1750 and 1600 parts books
have only the Webers but the only later Euro parts book I have (Giulia Nuova,
thanks Les) has all three brands. A nice thing about the parts book
illustrations is that it gives the Dellorto part numbers for all parts and the
Alfa part number for many, as well as the names of each parts in five
languages.
If getting photocopies from the AROC Technical Librarian (which is what the
AROC Technical Library is for) the pages one would want from the 2000 Berlina
(Euro) parts book are plates 23, 24 and 25 and pages 84, 86, 88, 90, 92 and 94
for the part numbers. Plate 26 and page 96 just have the gasket/seals kit
105.48.04.010.01/30 and the repair parts kit 105.48.04.010.07/31.
The Haynes and Autobooks manuals are both useful, the Autobooks instructions a
bit closer to multinational English than to purely English English, and less
stilted to my eyes. I have seen mention on the digest of a third line of
aftermarket manuals, Mercian I believe, but have never seen one; they may be
as good or better. (Anyone with experience of all three care to comment?) I do
not find duplicate coverages in manuals redundant, as different wordings or
phrasings can clear up ambiguities, but any one is more than some mechanics
use. ("Manuals? Torque wrenches? Feeler Gauges? Don't need no steenking - -
")
