RE: SPICA fuel light & low voltage



Hello Everybody-

One thing you might try is installing a fuel pump relay in the trunk. Run a
large gauge ( 8 or 10 ) primary wire (with inline fuse) directly from the
battery to the trunk and use the existing wire to the pump to turn the relay
on or off (control signal). 12V should be enough to run the pump, so my
guess is that there is an additional voltage drop through the existing
wiring to the pump. You could confirm this by measuring the voltage at the
pump. My guess is that you're dropping a volt or two... Also, check the
ground at the pump, a dirty ground connection can cause the same problems.
