RE: Power failure help?
A couple of days ago I sent a reply stating the exact same thing. However, I
did not recommend using a VOM since the problem on my car was so visually
obvious. On my Milano when the exact same symptoms occured it was the
battery cable to the starter sitting on the exhaust manifold.

At the risk of sounding stupid myself--isn't what you've just described
a monumental short in the HOT (not ground) line at an unfuzed position?
Before frying anything else, use a V.O.M. and (with the battery
disconnected) track thing through.
