Re: adjustable shocks

hi,

in discussing the merits of warious shox for the alfas, nizam sez:
=============================
<<<"...One big lesson learned is that just changing shocks without changing anything else does not improve performance. This has been debated hotly over and over again on this digest, and I have practical evidence that indeed, it does not work...">>>

i agree, that was my experience w/the gtwe6. regarding the shox themselves, i've only tried the multi-adjustable shox that tom zat's alfa heaven carries, & i can say they have stood up well to 4+ years of abuse, uh, i mean use. ;~) and, the adjustability thing is nice & really works - ewe can yust reach up behind the wheels & set the shox to suit. good for track days, or yust helpful to fine-tune the suspension to yer personal taste.

and, as far as making 'em work w/yer suspension, if ya go w/the zat shox & do 'em 1st, they can be set to stock-type feel, and work fine, tho not really giving any benefits over the stock shox. of course, if ya need gnu shox anyways, this is sometimes still an improvement! then, as funds/desires allow, ewe can upgrade (ruin?) ;~) the springs/torsion bars/swaybars, & the shox will yust be a few clicks away from being rite where ya want 'em... :>)

ymmv,

doug s.
