On a Verde it is black.   Mine got all faded too...  I used black bumper 
paint, and it looks perfect.   It's pretty easy to mask because you can 
slide a piece of paper between the trim and the body.  Then just tape 
the paper so it doesn't fly away.  Took me about 2 hours to paint all 
the trim, and it made the car look MUCH better.
