Electronic tach for older Spider

Did any of the "dual pod" dashboard Spiders use an electronic -- rather than
mechanical -- tachometer? If so, does anyone have one available for sale?

If not, does anyone have advice on adapting one (aftermarket or otherwise)
for use in the pod?
