Try making up some spacers to fit under the front seat
mounts, and some correspondingly longer seat mounting
bolts.

This will provide more support under your knees. A very
similar method was suggested in the Alfasud owners
handbook, and swapping the seat spacers front to rear
is a commen mod on the 33 to improve the seating
position (the rear spacers are 3/4" the front 1/4")
