Re: Another emissions question

Hi Fred,

For a car with only 38K miles, those emission figures are terrible!
When I had to have my 200K miles Milano (3.0 with S-cams, ar ricambi
cat, and bad headgasket) go to have a California SMOG check, it passed
with readings all being below the average car of its age (which means
it's better than the average '87 car).

I'm not good with 4-cyl cars. But how is the car idling? Is the O2
sensor functioning properly ? How is the compression? Did you change
your oil before the test? How does the exhaust fume smell (don't smell
it right at the pipes! 8-) ), but it standing a few feet away if you
smell rotten eggs, then, your car's mixture is not right (too rich).

Good luck.

Zamani
