Nuts again



It's my understanding that the left hand thread on left hand wheels
originated in the days of knockoffs, and that those would indeed unscrew
themselves if not for the reversed thread. Then, when the lug nut was
invented, some early belt-and-suspenders lugnut of a car builder decided
that he'd better hold over that design principle just to be safe.

By the way, thanks to all of you who won awards at the convention and have
been patiently waiting for nameplates to complete them. Some of the plates
are in the mail, and the remainder will be mailed Tuesday.
