Spider mirror

On later Spiders (at least as far back as '81), the inside mirror is on a
socket so it could 'break away" in the event of an impact.  I've removed the
mirror a time or two and all you have to do is swing it away from the
windshield and it'll pop right out of the socket.  Any body ever try putting
it back in the socket upside down?
