Synth in aircooled

I used synth oil in my aircooled Citroen based boxer back in Romania.It 
didn't damage anything.Many of the aircooled are overcooled anyway.
I used it in my 164 before doing anything to the cooling system and it seemed 
to keep things sounding smoother at same temperature as regular oil (maybe 
just an impression).
