Engine removal - 91 spider

Traditionally to pull the engine you have been better off pulling the engine 
and transmission as a unit.  With the changes in '91:  power steering, 
plastic replacing rubber bumpers, and apparently many other small things --- 
it looks like there is more space ------ is it practical to pull just the 
engine?
