New spider adjustments

First of all, Ken, congratulations on the new Spider. May it serve you long
and well. The major mod I made to mine (an 82 Spider veloce, no longer
owned) was to change the location of the gas pedal. As delivered, the gas
was even with the clutch and brake, and made for aches on even short trips.
Since the throttle is ALWAYS in use, vs the other two pedals, its
modification gave the best return for the effort. I made a simple pedal out
of a piece of aluminum angle bracket.
The piece was about 1 1/2" wide, and about 4" long. After taking off the old
pedal, I saw that it is curved so that it comes UP to meet the plane of the
brake pedal. By drilling two holes in the side of the right angle, I was
able to lower the pedal plane by about 1.5 to 2 inches. This works wonders
for legroom. See drawing below:
