===================
while differing mfr's tires are sometimes different sizes, even w/the same
numbers, it's wery easy to determine theoretical tire diameter from the #'s...
diameter of 205-55-16:
205mm/25.4 = 8.0709" (width of tread in inches)
0.55 x 8.0709 = 4.4390"(height of one sidewall in inches)
4.4390 + 4.4390 +16 = 24.8780" - diameter of mounted tire (two sidewall hts. +
rim ht.)
diameter of 195-65-15:
195/25.4 = 7.6772" (width of tread in inches)
0.65 x 7.6772 = 4.9902"(height of one sidewall in inches)
4.9902 + 4.9902 +15 = 24.9803" - diameter of mounted tire
the diameter of your "+1" conwersion is 99.59% of the stock set-up (tire
circumference ratio is the same), so speedo error is minimal - at an indicated
65mph, yer actually going 99.59% of that, or 64.738mph.
hope this is of some help,
doug s.
