Bad Milano-day!

	Ralph,
Like several people have mentioned it is a toss up on
removing the motor or just the heads. It depends if you are going to d
other preventative maintenance items like front and rear seals, and
check related areas.

At 40k on the heads, they would be off to the machine shop for me.
Most likely the guides will be ok, but the valves are continually moving
on and off the seats. This action dulls the sealing of the valves and
seats. When the previous owner did the heads did he replace the valve
springs? There are inexpensive and take a beating day in and day out.

The S-cams work well, but they are not a cheap upgrade. If you go to
S-cams then you will also need to replace the tappets, adjust the
valves, and replace cam seals. This is much more work than a simple head
gasket replacement. If you decide to upgrade then consider having the
heads milled a little - more compression from smaller chambers. Good
Luck.
