Sticky linkages

FWIW, perhaps not ALL of us come from motorcycle backgrounds, but the best
commercial lubricants I have found for things like cables and throttle
linkages are motorcycle chain lubricants in aerosol cans. They have a
lubricating agent in a volatile solvent which penetrates into joints and
evaporates, leaving an effective lubricating film behind.
I prefer the ones which leave grease over the ones which leave Teflon or the
like, but perhaps someone more current in two wheel technology can add more.
There is actually a can of each in my '72 Spider (that's 54 in human years)
and if my joints were as good as its are, I'd still run marathons.
Of course, if it had lived the life I have, it might be a bit stiffer, too!
