re: Spider Handling: one more suggestion...

Hi -

In regard to the recent discussion about worn Spider suspension components,
I didn't see any mention of one the most overlooked suspension bushings:
the rear trunnion bushing. This bushing helps to laterally locate the rear
diff on the T arm which mounts to the body.

With age/use the trunnion bushing will perish, allowing a tremendous amount
of play in the rear axle with respect to the body. This results in the
dreaded 'four wheel steering' which is very undesirable, and feels lousy on
the road.

Fortunately, the two-piece bushings are easy to replace by a knowledgeable
shop, and several aftermarket suppliers (check the Owner) can provide
upgraded versions for track use (the stock bushing gets torn up very quickly
after only a few track sessions).

In summary, if you're chasing phantom 'front suspension' woes, you're
problem may actually be in the rear axle...
