Many thanks for the help so far.

To clarify the 'indicator' situation. The button is in auto (light on),
the SPORT light on the dash is off, the 'shock' light on the dash is
off. However if I press the TEST button before starting the engine, all
dash indicators come on, all go off except the 'shock' indicator. Never
understood what this TEST button should really do - assuming it does
more than test the bulbs!
