(The check is in the mail)
Rich Hirsch, estimable soul that he is, is the one person so far who has
responded on-digest to one of the nine postings from Oscar Perez
(<PerezO@domain.elided>), which have appeared yesterday and today without evidently
having noticed that the messages were sent by Oscar on 23 Nov., 24 Nov., 29
Nov., 30 Nov., and 1 Dec. in 1999. I do not understand much about the failure
modes of the internet, but it appears that TCE.COM may have a problem. A
couple of the messages are ones which actually had appeared once already on
the digest on 1 Dec. and 2 Dec.1999.
I remember that in July 1998 there was a flapdoodle over something published
then which had been posted to the digest in March 1998, and I have a vague
recollection of a prior instance when the digest received (and published) a
message which had been emailed over a year previously. The 1998 incident was
via a different service-provider than Oscar's, (ixpres.com) so it isn't just
TCE. Probably not frequent enough to warrant always checking postmarks, but
I'll be damned if I'm going to rely on the internet for paying my taxes on
time.
