Inop fuel pump

Couldn't start the 88 Graduate and found that the fuel pump was not
running. No voltage to pump. I put 12V directly to the pump and it runs
fine. Checked the wiring diagram and it shows the power comes from an
undescribed unit (assume it's a relay) that is powered directly from the
battery. Anybody know where this thing is or what else to check and where
ever such component(s) might be located? The book also shows a main and an
alternate fuel pump. Where is the alternate one? Thanks for any help.
