750/101 top operation

Folding a Giulietta top.

1. Open both doors
2. Unlatch both front windshield latches
3. Fold both seats forward.
4. Unhook the side flap hold downs just behind each window on the rear cowl.
5. If your car does not have the rear bar bolted to the car (some 59-60
year cars are bolted) slide the rear bar back and unlatch it from the hinge
clips (both sides).
6. If your car has a rear drape, lift the rear of the top and put the rear
drape under it streatching it across the trunk over the hinges. Put the
rear bar back on top of the drape
7. Standing at the drivers side grasp top at front left corner and slightly
back and lift top upwards. This should release the two latches which hold
the top up. These latches are self engaging and are located on each side
behind the seats where the long rear tube meets the side of the car. These
latches need to be cleaned and lubricated occasionally to maintain proper
top function. Lower the top and push it under the rear cowl. Leave the
front bar of the top sticking out slightly.
8. Grasp the rear bar and push it forward. The rear window will roll over
the front bar and go down. Hook the rear bar over the front bar. Be sure
that there are no strange folds which will damage the rear window. Now push
the assembly under the rear cowl.
9. Pull the drape back over the cowl to cover the top assembly.
10. Fold back seats and close the doors.

When putting up the top reverse the order. When the top is erected pull up
slightly to engage the rear automatic clips you should be able to hear them
engage. Take time to figure out how these clips work and that they are
working correctly. If they do not engage correctly the top will not stay up
or have the right shape. It is most important to have these latches working
when a top is installed to get the correct top fittment. Teach the top
installer how to put up the top before he installs the top.
