Milano Shift Linkage Question-please help

Hello all,

Happy Holidays Alfisti!  

Question:  Has anyone had success getting a "rust siezed" Milano shift
linkage and gear selector apart?  I was having a horrible time with the
"side to side" nuetral shifting on my Milano.  Felt like something was
getting "hung up" in the system.  After cleaning and greasing all the
components from the shifter on back to the tranny, I noticed how the
shift linakage works (thanks Carl).

Anyway, the shift linkage and the gear selector on the linkage has
siezed together.  I need to get them apart to clean and lube the parts. 
Any good advice on how to do the procedure.

I am a little pressed for time, is the shift linkage and gear selector
an item that I can purchase, if I can not fix my linakage in time?

Please advise.
