my biggest complaint with abs, particularly as it's found in the milano, is
with the failure mode(s).

imho a 'safety' feature like abs should be just that, a safety feature.  if
the abs system fails to function then the driver should be left with a
functional braking system, albeit without the anti locking available (which
is bad enough in itself if you're counting on the anti-lock to bail you out
and it suddenly disappears).

however, in the milano, the abs can fail and leave you with greatly reduced
braking!

the abs in my verde has started to act up.  time permitting i'll remove the
entire system over the winter - it's a tremendous liability as far as i'm
concerned.
