Re: alfa-digest V7 #1087 - Oil Weight

An oil company representative suggested that you run whatever weight of
oil was specified in the owner's manual. I have found that hard advise to
beat.
The older Alfa owner's manuals specified 20W-50. It seems the one in my
wife's 91 spider specifies 10W-40. Being an iconoclast, I run 20W-50 in all
my Alfas.

 Subject: Oil?

I have a container that was given to me by the previous owner of my 164L,
containing Selenia 10W40 formula Alfa Romeo. The car was always fed this
oil. I was under the impression that 20W50 was to be used. Am I correct,
or should I use the 10W40?

 Thanks
