Misnomer is a correct word for the wrong thing (if you get my drift),
therefore, a misnomer must be correctly spelled to be such. A misspelled
misnomer is just an ordinary and garden variety mistake. More interesting
is a malapropism which is a mistake of another kind entirely, and a fine
example of the constant and impossibly democratic and idiosyncratic
development of the language I speak best.

Pigeon is actually spelled pidgin (well conventionally anyway, since pidgin
is essentially an unwritten language) if one is referring to pidgin
English. It may be pronounced Pigeon but that's because the speaker CAN"T
SPEAK PROPER ENGLISH! (sorry, but this thread needs to die).

How about it's?  What about the proper use of therefor?  And (please note
the now accepted useage, of what heretofore was considered a gaffe of huge
proportion) does anybody really understand that word only lawyers use
properly: Whereas?

Please accept my assurance, on widely demonstrated scientifically processed
and assessed evidence, that there is no such thing as proper English.
English cannot be defined, delimited, or dismantled accurately and
exhaustively. Anyone can invent and utilize, not to mention use, a new word
or new useage at any time. What was acceptable in the past is often no
longer understood or accepted and what was formerly unacceptable is now
just fine.

But please don't abandon accepted useage for the sake of being different,
remember us poor pedants who frighten easily and are so readily confused.
Talk to us like you mean it man.
