Parts

Just got my 87 Milano out of the paint shop yesterday. Looks great! Trying to put it back together and found
that plastic aero underskirts (under the doors on both sides) have bad cracks in them and do not do justice to
the new paint job. Anyone have a set in really good condition? There are four pieces and I would be
interested in any available. Please e-mail off line.
Also, a couple of days ago driving my spider, I heard a loud explosion and immediately got a terrible vibration
after a rather spirited shift from first to second. My first thought was the doughnut or a rear end problem. Oil
pressure and temp were OK and the engine accelerated OK (although with a teeth chattering vibration).
Jacked it up when I got home and the doughnut and drive shaft were OK. Tinkered around a bit and drove it
a bit more (a little less spirited this time). Thought I was running on three cylinders but even that wouldn't
explain this kind of vibration.
Drove the spider over to Bob McKeown's house for a chat and look see to see if he had any ideas. Just
happened that where the engine stopped that time it was immediately obvious that the cooling fan had
exploded!
Two blades left of five, and on the same side, hence the vibration.
Bob took off what was left of the fan (to keep the water pump bearings from wobbling out) and I limped
home looking for a route with no traffic. (Thanks again Bob!)
The fan replacement is cheap and I was lucky that the $600 radiator was unscathed. Funny, Bob related that
two spiders at the Georgia event this past weekend blew fans as well.
Now for the bad news, a dent in the hood that put a nasty crack in the paint that is only going to get worse! I
have been toying with the idea of getting a bra for the car and now may be the time. The dent is in the center
of the hood about three or four inches aft of the plain that the headlights are on. Looking for information on
bras, specifically, any brands that may cover this high up on the hood. Does anyone have one they can check
out the coverage and let me know brand ect.?
In the words of Jeff Foxworthy (You know you are a redneck if...) I guess what I need is not a little Victoria
Secret bra but an old fashioned Sears lunch room lady bra.
Any help will be appreciated!
