What's up: For years, I've run a similar tour the day before
another, ah, special-interest car event. Well, I no
longer own any of that particular variety of, ah,
special-interest car, so I thought I'd move the
tradition to the variety of special-interest car
I *do* own. The All-Italian Car Day in Alameda was
the perfect event, and when that weekend became
available for me I was happy to put this tour
together for the day before.
The tour route itself is somewhat flexible, and has
been worked out over the past 8 years. People who have
attended previous tours love the places we stop, the
roads we take, and the people and cars that show up.
While the event is on the ARA calendar in this month's
Cams, I'd certainly welcome members of any other club
(or *no* club) to join us for the day. As a note
to DSARC folks: you can still make your club tour to
the Barber Shop on Sunday, and make this drive with us
on Saturday. (And look for an East Bay springtime Y2K
tour that'll be a lot more geographically friendly to
DSARC members as well as ARA folks -- more news later.)
For info: Write back to me at sefisher@domain.elided or see the URL
posted above; it's got a FAQ that answers many of the
questions I've been asked since I started this tour.
Don't worry about registration or confirming or any
of that -- if you want to join us, show up in Palo
Alto on the 2nd around 9:30 and we'll leave for the
hills around 10 AM.
