Re: fuel prices



I realize the post was likely tongue in cheek, but 1 US gallon is 3.79
Liters. So $1.90/gallon for premium unleaded (common price right now in
Silicon Ditch, California) means $0.50/liter. I seem to recall the last
time I was in the UK gasoline was close to 1 UK pound per liter. That's
about $1.62/liter in US currency, so we're a skosh less than 1/3 the price
for fuel here in the Ditch. 

I'm leaving on vacation this weekend and will report the usurious rates
for fuel on the Isle of Man when I get back... The good news is that
driving in the UK is often far more fun than driving in the Ditch so it's
worth a bit more money for the fuel. :)
