Man I love My Car!!

Hey There Gang!!!

Well I finally got Sophia(my 74 spider) back on the road after my oil pan
had a close encounter of the pot-hole-kind.
This was the first weekend in a month I had the car...so it was time to go
nuts.
I packed up the spider, picked up my girlfriend and went for my first 'long'
drive in this car since I bought it.
I live in Montreal Canada, and about a 7 hour drive away, there is a place
to do some whale-watching.
The drive consists of single lane highways following the St. Lawrence river,
and winding through some mountain ranges later on.
Needless to say...this was the most fun I've ever had driving a car.
Man can that 2l engine handle a mountain.
I would grin from ear to ear every time I downshifted into 4th to blow by
some 4 cylinder cars in front of me that just couldn't handle those
mountains.
I guess it was the first time I really got a chance to see what kind of
power the car really has and I'm more than pleased.
Sophia responded beautifully every time I asked for more power.
We had so much fun that we're planning a 12 hour drive later this summer!!!

Did I mention that I love this car???

Even though I've had some rotten luck with the car lately, it's weekends
like this that make it all worthwhile.
The rotten luck I'm referring to is
1) hitting huge pothole and ripping off oil pans/ pump and denting hood in
process
2) electrician's scaffold collapsing and part of it falling on my right
front fender causing some nice-sized dents
3) windshield getting chipped from rock falling off back of 18 wheeler.

Although friends and family try to convince me that the car is cursed and I
should sell it, I stand firm in my beleifs that I will have this car for a
very long time to come.
