Does it make it go faster?

Anemic AC on Alfas? Number of engineers on the job, qualities of team? I
say it's a simple example of the Alfa priority decision tree: Does it make
it go faster? If yes, get started right away, if no, it can wait.

Very clever joke about the F1 circus coming to Indy in 2000, had me
chuckling several times. Much appreciated and very subtle humour. No
passing rule in effect, and they'll traverse the front straight in reverse,
direction that is.

Biggest problem in F1 is the cars are too good!!! Those mickey mouse tires
have to go. Maybe they'll go back to a smaller engine formula, as they have
in the past when speeds got too high. Actually, it's the braking and
handling that have got out of hand, so to speak, and it would be hard to
justify deliberately reining those in. The best racing is in the rain which
does not reduce top speeds much but sure as shooting separates the men from
the "holy sh**" brigade when the corners start looming up through the
spray! But there's no denying that a race where all the passing is of
stationary cars in the pits is a sorry excuse for a motor race. The
Canadian and French GP's were pretty good, can't wait to see what the boys
produce at Silverstone.

Oil again. Checked out the BMW website as a recent post suggested. The info
is pretty easy to get hold of I would have thought. Multi grade oils
protect like the single weight oil matching the higher number at high
temperatures and flow like a single weight matching the lower or Winter (W)
number at cold temperatures. Use a good multi grade of the correct
viscosity rating and relax. Unless you're racing or have heavily modified
your engine for the street so it's putting out substantially more hp and
driven hard at high revs, the manufacturer does know best what to use.
Check the old Owner's Manual and use the oil spec'd for your car by the
guys hoping you'll be a happy customer.
