Re: Titling Old Cars

David:

Contact the State Police or Dept. of Motor Vehicles in your state and explain
your situation. If the vehicle was last titled in your state, they should be
able to do a "title history" through their DMV computer system. They can then
issue you a replacement title, based on the PO's lost one. Even if it was not
last titled in your state, they can do a national check, and issue you a new
title, as long as the car does not come up as stolen. Try to get a bill of
sale from the PO. You may also have to execute an affidavit as to how you
came to own the vehicle. State laws vary, and it may take a little time, but
you should be able to get a new title for the car. Good luck, and enjoy the
Spider when you get it on the road!
